This blog will describe the tracks walked, their difficulty level, distance walked, time taken, facilities available, and will include some photos from the walks. Many of the walks also have a description on the Department of Conservation web site, and links to these and other relevant sites will be posted.
The walks were all done by the author, who has led a mainly sedentary working life, while well within the ‘Super Gold Card’ age range (> 65) , so this should be taken into account when comparing timings. Also times are increasing as arthritic knees start interfering, mainly on uneven downhill slopes.
Hi there – as an avid photographer looking to capture some new places around the Waikato I stumbled upon your blog while looking for some info on Pukemokemoke – wow I’m seriously impressed with the quality of the information on your site. Particularly as I have two boys (aged 7 and 10) and I’m always interested in knowing the difficulty of the walks, terrain and views we might get along the way. I have subscribed to your site and am looking forward to finding some more gems that we haven’t walked yet – so thank you for all your information

Thank you. I had noticed some referrals from your site coming through, and did look at your site for inspiration some time ago. I’ve upgraded my subscription to WordPress so the site is now also found at motowalknz.com. It also allows for videos to be added, which I hope to do one day.

Many thanks, Ant. I will try to keep going, but arthritic knees are setting some limits on steeper and rougher tracks.
